Winter Holidays 2026/27

The dates depend on the province:

• 18–31 January 2027: Podkarpackie, Podlaskie, Lower Silesia, Lodz, Silesia and Opole.
• 1–14 February 2027: Masovia, Pomerania, Swietokrzyskie and Lublin.
• 15–28 February 2027: Lubusz, Kuyavia-Pomerania, Warmia-Masuria, Greater Poland, West Pomerania and Lesser Poland.

Egypt, the Canary Islands, the UAE and Cape Verde are popular options for escaping the cold. Travellers looking for tropical weather can also consider Thailand, Mexico or the Dominican Republic. Egypt is particularly attractive for good-value All Inclusive holidays, while long-haul destinations usually offer warmer seas.

Christmas and New Year departures, school holiday dates and popular family hotels are best booked in advance. Early booking offers a wider choice of rooms, departure airports and flight times. Last Minute deals suit flexible travellers who can change their dates or destination.

Bring sun protection, a hat, comfortable footwear and a light jacket or jumper for cooler evenings. Wind can make resorts in Egypt and the Canary Islands feel colder after sunset. Before a long-haul trip, also check baggage allowances and any restrictions on carrying medication.

ETIAS is scheduled to begin operating in the final quarter of 2026, although the exact launch date has not yet been announced. It will apply to visa-exempt non-EU nationals visiting participating European countries for short stays. EU citizens will not need ETIAS.
