It depends on your nationality.

• EU Citizens (including Poles): Visa-free for up to 180 days; only the FMM migration form is required.
• Expats in Poland: If you hold a Permanent Residence Card or a valid multiple-entry US/Schengen visa, you generally do not need a Mexican visa.
• Important: A Temporary Residence Card (karta czasowego pobytu) alone does not grant visa-free entry (a valid visa in your passport is required).
   

The best beach season runs November to May — perfect Caribbean weather with no rain.

• November–May — dry season: +28–30°C, sea +27°C, clear skies — ideal for Cancún and Riviera Maya
• December–January — Christmas and New Year peak: highest prices of the year, book 3–4 months ahead
• June–October — rainy season and hurricane risk: 30–40% cheaper, but weather unpredictable
• Mexico City and ruins tours work year-round — highland climate is cooler and easier to handle

They offer two entirely different holiday styles — the choice comes down to taste and budget.

• Cancún — a well-developed resort with all-inclusive hotels, water parks and a buzzing hotel zone nightlife
• Tulum — boho-chic, eco-lodges, yoga, organic food, wild beaches and cenotes on the doorstep
• Playa del Carmen — the middle ground: pedestrian 5th Avenue, beach clubs and easy access to cenotes
• Popular itinerary: fly into Cancún, spend 3–4 days, then move down to Tulum

Tourist zones in Cancún, Riviera Maya and Mexico City are generally safe — the situation varies significantly by area.

• Cancún Hotel Zone and Riviera Maya — well-policed tourist corridors with a strong security presence
• Mexico City — Condesa, Roma and Polanco neighbourhoods are safe; avoid peripheral areas at night
• Avoid: Acapulco and several northern/western states — check your foreign ministry's current travel advisories
• Standard precautions: use licensed taxis or Uber, don't display valuables, avoid overnight bus travel

Mexico is rich in unique souvenirs — from Mesoamerican crafts to the world's finest tequila.

• Tequila and mezcal — look for Patrón, Don Julio or Clase Azul; buy from verified producers
• Vanilla extract — Mexican vanilla is considered the world's best and costs a fraction of European prices
